Used-oil fired heaters and boilers add profits to businesses and encourage recycling. Small businesses save thousands of dollars a year that would have been spent to purchase virgin fuel oil or other energy.

Constant improvements in the design of used-oil fired heaters and boilers in the last decade have increased their efficiencies and reduced emissions. Studies performed in Vermont, Texas and New Jersey through the 1990s demonstrated that used-oil fired heaters and boilers are economically and environmently sound investments.


Three simple rules govern used-oil fired heaters & boilers

The U.S. EPA established simple guidelines for the environmentally sound, economically beneficial practice of recycling used oil on-site as a fuel in a used-oil fired heater or boiler:

The heater must burn used oil generated on-site or collected from do-it-yourselfers
The heater must be vented to the outside air
The capacity of the heater cannot exceed 500,000 Btu/hour
